Our Story

The founders of Small Group Explorations are Nish and Tina Patel, who have each spent over 40 years in the travel industry. Our experience ranges from call-center agents to the president of a well-known tour and cruise operator in the Midwest. As we decided to retire in 2025 and move to Texas, a common question from friends and family was, “Can you help us plan a small group trip?” They didn’t want to be part of a large group and only wanted to travel with people they knew. That inspired us to start Small Group Explorations, where we customize trips based on your needs. We choose destinations we know well from multiple visits and trust our experienced ground operators there. Group size ranges from a minimum of four to a maximum of fourteen travelers.
